More than a nursery school, a community.
Where children and parents learn side-by-side.
The Heart of Early Childhood Education for Over 75 Years.
Napa Valley Cooperative Nursery School is a parent-participation school for children ages 2–6. The co-op model provides a supportive, caring environment for our children to grow.
Families who choose NVNS choose community, connection, and active engagement in their child’s early learning. Parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles work alongside the teacher in a classroom full of play, choice, and discovery.

Our Philosophy
We believe children learn best through play, exploration, and hands-on activity. Rooted in decades of research, our philosophy encourages curiosity and lets children take the lead in their own learning. Kinder readiness grows naturally through social-emotional guidance, STEAM exploration, and fine and gross motor skill activities.

The Program
All children are welcome at NVNS. Our curriculum is grounded in age-appropriate learning, with each day beginning with a warm, one-on-one welcome. Throughout the school, children explore art, building, science, sensory and imaginative play, music, movement, and storytime.
